Southwater Leisure Centre

Southwater Leisure Centre was built some 20 years ago, with an extension approximately 15 years ago to provide extra halls for the community of Southwater.

The facility comprises, a main sports hall let for a variety of sporting activities including badminton, indoor tennis, trampolining, indoor football etc. This hall can accommodate large community meetings up to 300 people.

The Lardner Hall and kitchen area can comfortably accommodate a meeting of 100 people seated and is used again for a variety of activities including children's activity parties, dance etc.

Cafe Bar area is the smaller hall of the two and can hold a small luncheon, bowls teas and other smaller community activities and can accommodate between 30-50 people seated. The entire centre can be opened up to accommodate 300-500 people.

A smaller meeting room is located on the first floor. This room can accommodate 20-24 persons in a boardroom style arrangement. This area is not suitable for disabled access, however the other areas within the Centre are compliant with the Disability Discrimination Act.

There are adequate toilet and changing facilities throughout the building. There is also a main catering kitchen, which can facilitate either the Reception Hall or Main Hall with a further smaller kitchen adjacent to the Lardner Hall.

 

Southwater Leisure Centre has a state of the art gym open to the public.  It is fully equipped, air conditioned and has 30 stations.

There is also a County Standard Bowls Green located at the Centre, with provision for public use. This use however, is by arrangement with the Centre management and Southwater Bowls Club.

To rear of the Centre there is a full size football pitch, which is available together with changing rooms. This facility would have to be booked through the Leisure Centre management.

A wide range of community and sporting activities are available at the Centre

*Annual Membership is to 31st December, therefore, a pro-rata calculation will be made from date of application.

Note: Direct debits will begin the month after application, therefore, a pro-rata charge will be made to cover the remainder of the month.

Adults/Students/Concessions/Senior Citizens Direct Debit Membership - Entitle the membership holder to free use of the Gym and Badminton courts at anytime (Badminton: 1 hour at a time and a maximum of 3 hours per week). If the membership holder wishes to book a badminton court with somebody else who is not a member it only costs an extra £1.50 per non-member. It also includes discounted and free leisure centre run sessions.

Junior Direct Debit Membership - Entitles the membership holder to free use of the Gym and Badminton courts at selected times (gym use for ages 11-16 only, Badminton: l hour at a time and a maximum of 3 hours a week). If the membership holder wishes to book a badminton court with somebody who is not a member it only costs an extra £1.00 per non-member.

Pay as You Go Membership - Entitles the membership holder to use of the gym on a pay per session basis.

Junior Memberships - 5 Years of Age to 16 Years of Age (gym users must be 11 years plus)

Senior Citizen Memberships - 60+ Years of Age

Personal Training - Available at £20 per hour - please speak to your favourite instructor for details.
